Broken car keys is a common problem, usually this is caused over time by general wear and tear. Sometimes a key may have been bent and re-straightened, where the bend was could now be a weak spot which is more likely to snap, in these cases we would recommend having a new blade cut before this happens. If the key has already snapped when you bring it to us, StarKeys should still be able to cut a new blade from two broken pieces. If your key breaks whilst turning a lock and the broken piece is still inside the cylinder, we can extract the broken piece from the lock and then cut the key from there. Sometimes in these cases it is necessary to remove the lock and strip that down to remove any broken pieces.
